CSH – Nepal motivates the people to gain skill and use it to fight against poverty. Vocational training is best tool for the purpose as it gives the underprivileged population net rather then fish in hand, and teaches how to fish.
Bamboo Craft
The mountainous region of Sunsari is rich in natural resources. The bamboo grown here can be used to craft different household products. It is locally used to produce items of day to day use, but a little up gradation in skill and modern approach to bamboo craft the local community can produce high quality bamboo products.
Organic Vegetable Farming
Organic vegetable farming is very profitable in comparison to conventional agriculture products. The city of Itahari, Dharan and Biratnagar has huge demands for such items. The local farmers can be trained for production and direct marketing to buyers to get high return and low ionvestment.
Handicraft
The ethnic Tharu community makes amazing structure of decoration from rice plants, the Satar communities can make decorative floor carpets from long weeds that grow in marsh on around, several such indigenous skills needs to be enhanced and marketed in benefit of local population.
